Summer Beginnings

Can you believe that I’m adding another post already? It’s only been two days! I know what you’re thinking. It’s summer and I have nothing better than to post on my blog. Actually, it’s the exact opposite! Life has been less usual lately so I have more to write about.

First, Star Trek. Go see it. That is all.

Just kidding, that’s not all. But seriously go see it. I was amazed at the new look, feel, and attitude this movie presented. To me, there always seemed to be something a little to perfect about the Star Trek universe. No disease, problems, greed, money or anything else that we’re so accustomed to. Star Trek has always been very Utopian. Well J.J. Abrams decided to change the feel to a more industrialized atmosphere. Also, the battles have amazing cinematography. The cast was pretty good, but I had a few problems believing that Zachary Quinto was Spock and not Sylar (I expected him to chop someone’s head open at any time). Overall, it was a great movie for anyone and definitely a good reboot for the series.

Today, I came home to Lehi for Mother’s Day tomorrow. I spent most of the day cleaning the carburetor on my motorcycle. Tonight, my dad and I put everything back together and we got the motorcycle running! It works! I’m so excited. Now I’ve just got to tweak it and get my motorcycle endorsement. Then I’ll be good to go!

Last but not least, I was able to go to Troy’s wedding reception today. I can’t believe he is married, but it was way cool to see him and Michaelene so happy. They make a cute couple. It was awesome to see them and know that they will spend the rest of eternity together. Can’t wait for my turn! :) But I’m learning to wait patiently.

Anyway, that’s all my exciting events recently. However, I move up to Boise tomorrow and I’m way excited for that! I’ll start my new job on Monday. Hooray!

I just saw La La Land and wanted to share my thoughts about it. The movie tells the story of how an aspiring actress and a struggling jazz musician help each other find love through the struggle of achieving your dreams. Overall, it was a decent movie with some catchy music. Here are some things that stood out to me: * I loved the raw, immature sound of the lead actors voices. At first it was distracting, but as the film progresses it pulled me in and helped me feel like these were regular people like me. * The musical number at the beginning of the movie didn't seem to fit. It seemed like it was just a way to introduce that this was a musical but didn't really add to the story. * When Mia's car got towed, how did her roommates get home? Small plot hole, but it bugged me for a while. * There were a lot of plot holes. What happened to the band? What happened in between fall and winter at the end (trying not to spoil too much)? New Beginnings

I've been thinking a lot lately. I've been think a ton lately. Okay, let's be honest, I've been thinking so much that I think I'm starting to go a little bit crazy. Maybe I should say, a little more crazy. Anyway, what have I been thinking about? Life, the universe and everything. And I've come to a conclusion. The answer is 42. No, just kidding. That's really not it. But I have been thinking a lot about life and where I fit in. And I did come to a conclusion: I don't really know who I am. Sure, I'm Tyler Tolley, but I have no idea what that means. It seems everyday I'm redefining a new aspect of my life. Some days I wish I were a cowboy and some days I wish I were the president of the United States. The fact is, I really don't know who I am and that's so cool! I felt like it's time for another self-defining blog posts, but I couldn't think of anything amazing to write about. Then I realized something so extremely unique about myself that I couldn't help but spew out this amazing gift on my blog. I am an Imaginator Extraordinaire.
